Volunteer

Volunteers are vital to Saint John’s success, providing crucial support to our mission and staff. With only a small team, volunteers make Saint John’s run – and run well! Whether you’re available once a week, once a month, or every once in a while, you can make a valuable contribution to the program.

Current Opportunities

See the volunteer opportunities available at our various locations.

Assist our chef in daily food production (lunch and dinner). Tasks may include peeling, chopping, mixing, cooking, processing food donations, and light cleaning, as well as serving a meal to our women and children.

Assist in one of our offices with basic clerical duties, including data entry, help with bulk mailings and organizing projects. You may also be asked to help out with phone calls to our donors and volunteers.

Play with and interact with our kids! You may also be asked to help with tasks like preparing art projects for our teachers or helping out with light chores.

Help with set up or serve at our Guest Chef Dinners.

We host large-scale special events every year, like Party for Change in the fall, requiring 100+ volunteers over two days. These opportunities will be posted several months prior to the actual dates.

“Saint John’s empowers women, through its multifaceted services, and challenges each woman to do the hard work to rise up. The program gives deserving women the strength, skill and confidence to regain control of their lives and reclaim their human right to live a dignified life, free from abuse and the stigma of dependence. To me, this is nothing short of witnessing grace in action.”
